JC Terblanche says: ‘Molly Ornamental is one of most eye-catching ornamental peppers out there with dark green/purple foliage decorated with lots of purple and orange peppers facing upwards on the plants. The plants are very sturdy and compact and are ideal for containers if you don’t have much space. The pods start off purple, but they are not ripe until they turn yellow/ orange. Though seen as ornamental they are totally edible with the heat levels of a jalapeno. The orange peppers have a slight sweetness to them and can be added to salsas, curries, and sauces. They produce a good quantity of 2.5 cm pods for such small plants. A good variety to start off with if you want to start growing peppers.’
