Mint: Korean

R30.00 incl VAT

This variety is from Peak Week Pods. JC Terblanche says: ‘The chances of true mint seeds germinating are very low, but this variety isn’t a true mint and they germinate very easily from seed. Korean mint (Agastache rugosa) is an extremely beautiful lilac purple flowering herb that will bring colour to your garden the whole summer long. Korean Mint is found in the mountain regions of eastern Asia, especially along stream banks. Plant it in the full sun in well-draining soil. Its showy, purple flowers are especially attractive to bees and butterflies. Like most mint, Korean mint also has medicinal value and can be used to make a delicious liquorice flavoured tea. The leaves are edible so adding them to a salad will offer a different flavour to the norm. The leaves and stems are good for the digestive system. Add 1 large leaf to a cup of boiling water and leave it to steep for about 5 min. This makes a healthy and refreshing drink, hot or cold.’
