Toothache plant

R40.00 incl VAT

This variety is from Peak Week Pods. JC Terblanche says: ‘The toothache plant is something different – it’s also known as buzz buttons, electric daisy, and many others. It is in the Asteraceae family and grows no higher than 15cm. It’s a really cool plant as all parts are edible, and the young leaves are used in salads. Here is where it blows my mind: the flowers contain a substance that promotes salivation and activates a special transient receptor potential ion channel in the oral cavity. In short, this partially numbs the mouth. The part that I love is the buzzing effect on your lips, for a good 5 min your lips feel electric-like pulses and it feels as if it’s shaking or trembling. If you are adventurous, try these!’
