Chilli pepper: Beulah’s Old Sundew

This variety is from Peak Week Pods. JC Terblanche says: ‘If you like so-called peppadews, you should have a look at this variety as it fits the same profile and can be used in various ways. The pods mature from green to a solid red when ripe. They are twice the size of normal peppadews and less work is required to fill the bottle as you only need a handful to fill the jar. The pods are slightly wrinkled, but have the same ‘sundew’ flavour we all love! Expect lots of sweetness with no detectable heat. Plants grow quite high and upright and will appreciate some support especially when the plants start to fruit. These have been tried and tested as they are originally from Beulah Miskin who devoted much of her time to pickling, canning, and making preserves. We all know the prices of these in the shops, but here is an opportunity to grow your own for a small portion of the cost of buying them.’
