This variety is from Peak Week Pods. JC Terblanche says: ‘I’m sure you will agree that these are some of the most beautiful beans around. However, their appearance is not the only thing that I love about them. Prairie Appaloosa originates from the South Western parts of America and is named after the Appaloosa horse which bears similar colours. During our 2022 Dry Bean Maturity Trial Prairie Appaloosa came in second by producing the majority of its dry pods in 88 days from sowing. They are quite productive and the beans have a good ability to absorb flavour from what you add to your dish. They also have thinner skins and cook slightly quicker than other varieties, so keep an eye on them. A well-rounded bean, in my opinion.’
