Chilli pepper: Bulgarian Carrot
R40.00 incl VAT
This variety is from Peak Week Pods. JC Terblanche says: ‘This sure resembles a carrot! Also known as ‘shipkas‘ in Bulgaria from where they originate. The plants are lower-growing and produce a surprising amount of pods that grow up to 7cm. This variety is one that most households can entertain with – they have just enough heat to elevate a dish, but not enough to have guests leave the table gasping for air. They are a bit hotter than a jalapeno, and with a great fruity flavour. Bulgarian carrots would be a great addition to salsa, sauces, chilli oils, or simply as a topping for pizzas and pasta. Easy to grow and produces fruit nice and early.’
