- This variety is from Kirchhoffs: The rich flavour and crisp texture of freshly harvested garden broad beans cannot be beaten. These beans should be sown before the soil becomes too warm. Early, tall plants bear long pods with large, flat pale seeds inside. One of the few podded vegetables for winter and early spring.
