When one produces ones own food – whether it’s herbs or rows of maize – there is nothing better than the flavour and aroma that it brings one’s kitchen and home. Never mind that some money has hopefully been saved, or one’s palate has been invigorated – using one’s own food is fun! I’ll jot down my favourite recipes here – and hope that you’ll be inspired to use them to enjoy your own food.

Kombucha

Kombucha is a refreshing way to use leftover fruit produce from your garden or fruit basket. It is a fruity, fizzy, refreshing drink that’s a great alternative to wine and beer. At the same time, there is some evidence that kombucha’s natural pre- and probiotics are good for us. So, it’s refreshing AND possibly even good for you. What a win!
